Problems connecting with their ISP after installing America Online 5.0?
A tech support dude from an ISP wrote in with the following solution...
"I work as a technician for an ISP and we come across this problem all the time and there is an easy solution.
First, save a copy of your Organize folder which is ususally located C:\America Online . This contains all of your information for email, favorites, screen names, pfc(personal filing cabinet), etc.
Next, uninstall AOL.
Then go to the Network Properties under the control panel and remove from the installed components:
1) AOL adapter
2) AOL Dial-up adapter
3) TCP/IP - AOL adapter
These three things cause all the problems and removing will fix the problem, but you must uninstall AOL 5.0 or it will put those back in everytime you use AOL.
