DiskTest Pro

This program is great if you're stuck with a stack of defective diskettes you can't return. You'll also find it handy if you can't retrieve that crucial report from a floppy. Disktest Pro effectively analyzes, repairs and modifies standard 3.5" Double Sided High Density diskettes. It works exclusively on 32-bit Windows systems and your first floppy drive (A:). All of its functionality is accessible from one of the coolest interfaces I've seen in shareware. Anyway, the program will scan a diskette for bad sectors, and will repair any one that it finds. This feature should help rescue any data that's trapped in a diskette. You can use the space-age GUI to review all sectors on a disk, including boot, FAT 1, FAT 2 and empty sectors.

Disktest Pro functions as an ideal replacement to Windows' basic Format command. You can perform quick and full formats whether you're using a good or corrupted diskette. An excellent feature is that you can format individual sections of a diskette, even with bad sectors in the system area.

Disktest Pro always indicates its operational status as well as the state of the diskette itself. You'll find a neat clock that suggests the amount of time left in a task. There's also a gauge for monitoring average read time.
